Ms. Kristen Adams
Why is Kristen Adams in the alarm business and why
should you consider buying an alarm from her company, Allstate Alarm Company?
Kristen answers the question:
- I started this business after my home was broken
into, burglarized and vandalized when I was 21 years old. I will never forgot the pain of the
invasion, the fear and the loss of items of sentimental value. I had
insurance, but there are caps on insurance unless items are specifically
insured. My insurance replaced some of my lost valuables, but they
didn't replace my grandmothers antique platinum diamond ring, my coin
collections, silver dollars, my expensive "costume jewelry"
or the many other personal and sentimental items that were stolen.
- I was away that weekend and someone in the
neighborhood probably saw me leaving with my suitcase. It was obvious
I would be gone for a couple of days. They broke in through my back window,
a small slider over my kitchen counter.
- They partied in my home all
weekend, drank my soda, ate my food, and destroyed and dirtied my property.
When I came home Monday morning, I looked around and just cried. The police came and
took a report and then they left. There were no clues and no
suspects.
- My brother suggested taking a picture of all the
damage, but when I looked for my camera, I realized that it too was gone and
I cried some more.
- I faithfully called the police hoping the perpetrator
would be caught. I was hopeful my coin collection and family jewelry
would be returned. It never was returned. I never learned the name of the
juvenile that supposedly was
hitting all the homes in my development. He was a juvenile - he was
"protected". I was just a forgotten
statistic.
- I vowed to help others prevent this personal
devastation. I became interested in burglar alarms and so did my
brother. He became an apprentice, and an installer and eventually
owned his own company. I worked for him in sales and learned a great
deal about security systems.
- I entered the U.S. Navy in 1978 and during my three
years I was trained in security systems, and fire suppression systems.
I received an honorable discharge and started a career in
engineering at General Electric in Valley Forge, Pa. During this
period, I learned a lot
about security systems, burglar alarm systems and fire suppression systems.
- I founded
my own company as a sole proprietorship - Allstate Alarm Company - in 1981. I chose that name
because I install burglar and fire alarm systems all through the State.
I do not have any affiliation with the insurance company of the same name.
- It is my goal to provide affordable security systems
to help prevent crime and personal tragedy. I want everyone to be aware of the importance
of a security system. We all need safety, security and peace of
mind. A security system guarantees you and
your family will be safe in your home. It protects you while you are sleeping and
protects your
possessions and pets while you are away at work, shopping or on vacation.
- I
have been professionally trained in alarm systems, alarm electronics, alarm
installation techniques and sales and service throughout my entire
career. I regularly attend technical training courses and seminar's so I am always
aware of the latest and greatest technology and the correct application of
this technology.
- I am so concerned for my
customers safety that I always offer a monitored smoke detector at cost.
I have noticed over the years that many people have smoke detectors, but
neglect to replace the battery. This doesn't become a problem until
there is a fire. A monitored smoke detector not only wakes you up, but
it immediately calls the fire department and saves precious time so you can
escape with your family and pets.
- I am personally accountable for strict standards of
quality and professionalism. My company has many local references.
Our customers are thoroughly happy and we have never had one
complaint. I make it my company policy to try to meet every one
of my customers. My company has never been sued nor have I ever had
one unresolved complaint. I personally make sure that my customers are
completely satisfied with my systems and my service.
